Must be the Weather....

The forecast for the week in Vancouver as I was leaving San Francisco. Rain rain rain rain rain rain.

I know, I know. I've done the typical thing - arrived home, sat on my ass and haven't posted in a week. I am so overwhelmingly tired (not to mention busy seeing friends and getting, let's face it, tipsy) that the idea of re-sizing photos and writing something witty seems like an insurmountable chore. I'm drained.

The weather probably does not help - Vancouver's patented dark grey skies and mix of rain and waiting-for-rain has been known to sap the creativity and energy out of many a soul. It has been sunny for a total of one hour in the last week - literally.

But this weekend I am going to hunker down and spend a few hours getting re-aquainted with cropping and captioning and witty one liner-ing. It's coming. I promise. Hell, you'd have SAD too....

See you soon -
Violet Dear

Hello Mah Deah!

Not surpsrised it's taking you a while to settle back! What an adventure!

I have a little question for you..I'm sure there will be many more in the next few months.

How east (or not) is it to rock upat an airport in SE Asia and book a flight for the next day? For instance, I'd like to fly from Vientiane to Hanoi, but I'm not sure how long I'm going to stay in Laos for and don't want to tie myself down to a date.

Is it possible to get to Vientiane and book a flight...or do I need to do it in advance? I know I need to organise the visa for Vietnam in advance!

Cheerz hun, I hope you're back on top form soon :)

Thought I'd just let you know that I nominated you for a couple categories in the Canadian Blog Awards (New Blog, Best Overall) and voting opened today. Good luck.

as usual Sproglet stole the show...

So, I humbly submit..."What she said".

@Sproglet - I replied to your questions, but just in case it didn't work:

Usually it is no problem, but you usually pay a bit more that way. However, from Vientiane to Hanoi it pays to book in advance - we tried to book last minute and it was about 200 US a person - ouch! I suggest arranging that one in advance if you can.....

hope this helps! (There are also night buses - but I wrote a blog about that that you should read before you do that!)

Ha ha, I read that entry I think!

Yes...maybe I should book that one in advance, when I checked it came in at about $160, if it'll save me $40 it's worth it.

Thanks very much hun :) I hope you're enjoying being home.

@Anon - I'm sure you'd have asked the question in much better English than me!
